CUHK expanded electric vehicle charging facilities to United College and Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field

As a pioneering local university dedicated to carbon neutrality, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is the first to commit to achieving carbon neutrality by 2038.  To create a low-carbon campus that aligns with the University’s goal, we have launched the “Green Mobility for Blue Sky” initiative to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities on campus.

As a notable step towards these goals, CUHK has installed additional EV chargers at two prominent locations on campus:

  • United College (outside Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building) – 6 solar power-enabled 32A EV chargers; and
  • Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field (outside Nissen Hut) – 8 13A EV chargers

The solar power-enabled EV charging facilities at United College are the first of their kind installed on campus.  The enabling of solar power in EV charging demonstrates our commitment to reducing carbon footprint and actively progressing towards a low-carbon campus.
