高大喬木，本地原生。於四五月開花，花大兼密集，白色，為初夏美麗的花卉喬木，秋冬結果，五瓣開裂，散發種子。樹皮有毒。 木荷與茶花同科不同屬，可作為綠化原生樹種。

Schima is a big native tree that blooms densely with large white flowers between April and May.  Fruiting is in autumn/ winter.  It opens in 5 slices when ripe to spread the seeds.  The bark however, is poisonous, and some may find it a skin-irritant.  Schima and Camellia belong to different families.  It can be a good choice of a native plant for greening programs.
