具刺小灌木，葉密，可修剪作綠籬。秋冬結果，果實細小圓形，密佈灌木枝頭，火紅一遍。春天開小白花。

This is a thorny evergreen shrub, cultivated for ornamentation.  Leaves are dense, it is also often trimmed to make impenetrable green fences.  In autumn and winter, round little berries (or pomes) are closely packed over branches, giving a scene of red flames.  They are fruit for birds and other wild life.  Flowers are produced in spring.
