為了美化環境，近年流行綠牆（Green Wall），在牆外設立支架，再放置很多小盆，種植各類草本花卉。在中大校園內，有簡單直接更環保的綠牆。葡萄科的大藤本爬牆虎，利用捲鬚的吸盤由地下一直爬上筆直的外牆，綠葉可完全遮蓋牆身，是最理想的垂直綠化植物。

Green Walls are becoming popular choices to enhance environmental outlooks in recent years.  Frames are set on the outer side of walls, and then pots of various herbal and flowering plants.  On campus there is a simpler and environmental-friendlier source of Green Wall.  The Diverse-leaved Creeper, a large climbing vein in the Vitaceae family, uses suckers of its curvy tentacles to climb up walls, and coat them entirely with its green leaves.  It is an ideal species for vertical greening.
