十七棵圓柏，一行整齊的樹形，翠綠的樹葉，排列於錢穆圖書館外。據前園藝組經理游中驥先生說，最早栽培的一列原是龍柏，因為日久樹型欠佳，加上歷年颱風摧殘，零落不堪，遂於九十年代中重栽一批圓柏，更將原來植穴擴深，換上沃土及重鋪草皮；誰知行人貪圖捷徑把草地走出兩道行人路，於是加鋪踏石美化之。

A total of 17 Chinese Juniper form two neat rows of emerald green canopy in front of the Ch'ien Mu Library.  According to former manager of the Landscape Department Mr. Yau, the species originally cultivated was the Dragon Juniper, but with poor maintenance and destructions from typhoons, they were much scattered and damaged.  A batch of Chinese Juniper replaced them in the 90s.  Deeper holes were dug, filled with more fertile soil.  A new lawn was planted too, on which impatient pedestrians walked out two short-cut paths.  Stone tiles were then added to give a decorative tinge.
