All undergraduate programmes require students to complete the University's General Education courses. These courses are aimed at broadening students' knowledge base by providing a structured exposure to a number of fundamental human concerns and to possible approaches to them. The courses include environmental and sustainability-related elements such as 'Humans' relationship with nature' and 'Nature, Science and Technology'. More about the University's General Education Programme |
Each of the University's nine colleges offers credit-bearing General Education Courses along with non-credit-bearing learning opportunities such as assemblies, overseas learning tours and various types of co-curricular activities. Students are required to fulfil the unit requirements specified by the respective colleges. The courses and activities aim to provide students with a broad perspective that goes beyond academic pursuits and often covers topics related to the environment, sustainability and social justice.
