As part of CUHK's waste reduction plan, the Yard for Environmental Sustainability (YES) has been providing facilities during the past few years to encourage CUHK users to reuse, freecycle or recycle useful resources. A new YES will be built using a cable-driven robot system, a cutting-edge technology recently developed for the construction industry. The new YES will be a prominent addition to CUHK's campus and will also demonstrate the capabilities of the local construction industry.
During the redevelopment of YES, temporary cabinets are set up next to Y.C. Liang Hall (facing YES) for the freecycling of useful resources.
