Disposal of Electrical & Electronic Equipment under New Legislative Requirements

- The University's Waste Management Guidelines have been updated (click here for the updated version) with the addition of a new section (Section 2.3) on the arrangements for the disposal of waste equipment, including the Regulated Electrical Equipment (REE, aka 「四電一腦」) under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance (Cap. 603) with effect from August 2018.
- To reduce waste and encourage the re-use of second-hand furniture and equipment, a new category entitled 'New Owners Wanted! – FREE furniture & equipment' has been created in ITSC's 'Weekly Digest of CUHK Mass Mails' (screenshot below). Before disposing of unwanted items or buying new items, departments/units/individuals are encouraged to post or check out information there.
